Isaiah 66:12a: For this is what the Lord says: ”I will extend peace to her like a river…”
I have found this to be true, even when the violent storms of life: a failed kidney transplant, a wayward son on drugs, the reoccurrence of cancer in our family; the Lord’s peace is like a river running through it all! No matter the size of the storm, the darkness of the clouds, or the pressure of the winds, God has kept His hand of mercy upon us and has kept our boat from capsizing. He has steadied our fears and given us calm in the midst of our storms, truly fulfilling His Word to me: “I will extend peace to her like a river.” I know that I can trust that the Lord is “watching to see that his word is fulfilled” Jeremiah 1:12.
